About Ben
I was born in Portland, OR and spent the first 18 years of my life there before moving to San Diego for college. After graduating from the University of San Diego in 2010 with a degree in Business Administration, I set out on a “coming of age” style thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. I completed a thru-hike of the Tahoe Rim Trail along the way, reached the Canadian border in late September, and thru-hiked Mt. Rainier’s Wonderland Trail almost immediately after finishing the PCT. By the time that I retired my backpack for the year, I had hiked nearly 3,000 miles and discovered a passion that I was eager to indulge again as soon as possible.

I participated in two Outward Bound courses during high school and the words of its founder remain an influence on the trips I undertake.

“There is more to us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps

for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for less.”
